Frequently Asked Questions
What is Alpha?
Alpha is a series of sessions where you can explore the basics of the Christian faith through a short talk/video and open conversation. It’s friendly, open, and designed especially for people who are exploring.
Is Alpha for people who don’t go to church?
Yes. Alpha is for anyone—whether you believe in God, don’t believe, or aren’t sure. You don’t need a church background to attend.
What happens at a typical session
Usually three parts: time to connect (often with food), a short talk/video, and then small-group conversation where you can share your thoughts or just listen.
Do I have to talk in the small group?
No. You can share as much or as little as you want. Many people start by just listening.
Will I be pressured to become a Christian?
No. Alpha is a space to explore and ask honest questions at your own pace. There’s no pressure.
How much does it cost?
Alpha is free to attend.
When does the next Alpha start?
We run different Alpha courses throughout the year. If dates aren’t posted yet, you can request updates and we’ll send you the schedule as soon as it’s announced.
Is Alpha online or in-person?
Both—depending on the course type and quarter. Some courses meet online and others meet in person. We’ll include the format in the schedule announcement.
What if I have tough questions or I disagree?
You’re welcome here. Alpha is built for honest conversation—questions are encouraged, and no question is off-limits.
Do I need to know the Bible?
Not at all. Alpha is designed for people who are exploring, so no background knowledge is needed.
I’m shy or nervous—what should I expect?
That’s normal. You won’t be put on the spot. You can listen, take your time, and share only if you want to.
